The world we live in is an exciting place and we are living through some memorable moments in world history. Many of us sometimes become complacent or even disillusioned with the world around us and go about our daily life with little understanding of the world or, even worse, no desire to ever understand the happenings around us and the people that populate far off places. Hopefully, we can all engage in learning and a possible discourse that will allow us all to broaden our horizons and not only learn more about others, but learn more about ourselves. I do not expect that everyone will love AP U.S. Government, Honors Civics and Economics, or Civics and Economics. I do not expect everyone to remember all, or even most, of the content they learn in the classroom 20 years from now. I do hope that you will learn about your world, that you will further develop your feelings about important issues in that world, that you will gain an appreciation for those who may think and live differently than you, and that more than anything else, you simply learn a little about life. Now live it up. . .
